Yes, sometimes Kevin and Mauri work together!
From TV Docs for OUTtv to a bunch of festival shorts, the picture and sound edit have been created together for even greater efficiency and artistic possibilites.
When not editing together or alone, other stuff happens...
Don't even ask about the puppetry.
Okay. You can ask.
As much as we wish they could, no one leaves the theatre humming a 2-shot.
Kevin works as a Recordist, Boom Op, and Sound Assist. Mauri is a skilled Sound Assist and Boom Op. And they are also happy to do it together. Those People are comfortable on sets of all sizes and experienced in shooting sound for television, commercials, shorts, and web series.
Having functioned in virtually every part of the sound process, Kevin holds an unusual appreciation for the critical value of achieving the highest quality on-set recording possible. He is experienced in using field recorders like the Sound Devices 744t, 644, and 788t recorders.
Mauri’s decades of on-set experience has created a special sensitivity for working with both actors and crew. Not only skilled in the fine art of mic placement and experienced with Lectrosonics and Sennheiser lav set ups, as a film and television puppeteer, spending a lot of years with her arms over her head, she’s good for the booming.
Mauri and Kevin work great together and are a respectful, diligent, and fun sound team.
As a full member of IATSE 891, Kevin is available for union shoots as well.
Kevin and Mauri, largely working in the genre Stupid Comedy for Smart People, have co-written several off-beat short films produced to date. In addition to the shorts, their comedy feature script, Speak Now, placed in the finals at the One In Ten Screenplay Contest and made the semi’s at Moondance.
Those People have also co-written several television projects including the television special, Active Dog Formula 500, which was just starting development at Animal Planet when the network rebranded.
Mauri, an alumni of Women in the Director's Chair, has directed several of their award-winning short films including Milk’d! A Reality Movie, Stimulus Package, and Head of the Household.
